From August 8 to 10, 2025, the village of Karaul in the Abai Region hosted grand celebrations marking the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, thinker, and educator Abai Qunanbaiuly.

The anniversary events were organized with the active support of government bodies, regional administrations, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, and domestic enterprises. Districts from across the Abai Region participated, showcasing the region’s cultural, artisanal, and economic distinctiveness.

The celebration of Abai Qunanbaiuly’s 180th anniversary was not merely a ceremonial event — it became a ten-day nationwide marathon of cultural and spiritual remembrance.
